Auto & Truck Repair FAQs

  • What is prevention maintenance and why is it important?

Preventative Maintenance is routine vehicle maintenance that keeps your car running smoothly and avoids problems that could leave you stranded. It is important to understand that a well-maintained car is more reliable, safer, lasts longer, and increases customer satisfaction. Some things considered prevention maintenance include tune-ups or services, replacing spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap and rotor are all examples of preventative maintenance. Others include engine oil change, trans-axle oil change, hose inspection, battery servicing, exterior drive belt replacement, transmission fluid and filter service/replacement, timing belt replacement, brake fluid flush, power steering flush, antifreeze replacement/flush, rotate tires, and inspections of your vehicles brakes.

There are more! You can give us a call and we can provide you any extra information or answer any of your questions.

  • What car brands do you service?

We service all major car brands in the US. Including, but not limited to, Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Land Rover, Jaguar, and Mercedes-Benz.

Please note we do not service Teslas. Give us a call today and we can let you know if we are able to help you!

  • When does my car need a tune up?

You might notice a drop in your gas mileage. It's possible that your vehicle will begin to run erratically. If your vehicle's check engine light comes on, it could mean it's time for a tune-up. Your vehicle's owner's manual may recommend a tune-up at a specific mileage.

  • How do I handle a situation where my car overheats?

This is a severe issue; if your automobile overheats for an extended period of time, the engine may be damaged. Find a safe spot to pull off the road as quickly as possible and turn off the engine! Checking the fluid level in the radiator should not be attempted because the hot fluid might cause severe burns. Tow your car to Sanford's Automotive Repair as soon as possible.
